Specialized Tarmac SL8 Expert Di2 2025 | Road bike

The Tarmac SL8 is unbeatably fast. Advanced aerodynamics and low weight result in a ride quality that seemed unattainable. After eight generations and more than 20 years of development, it's not just the fastest Tarmac ever—it's the fastest road bike in the world. Ready?

Aerodynamics and light weight alone don't win races – at the finish line, it's speed that counts. Achieving race speed requires a very specific balance of aerodynamics, lightness, stiffness, and compliance. Our Ride Science team used race simulations based on real-world data to determine that the Tarmac SL8 is the fastest road bike ever built on the key stages. It was a full 16.6 seconds faster over 40 km, 128 seconds faster at Milan–San Remo, and 20 seconds faster on the Tourmalet.

AERO AVANTGARDE:

For us, aero is about the surfaces that really matter, not the ones that look best. With this philosophy, we created our most aerodynamic road bike ever. And yes, it is more aerodynamic than the Venge. The Tarmac SL8's redesigned head tube better maintains airflow because the surface at the front is more tapered. We call it the Speed Sniffer, and with it, the more streamlined cross-section of the head tube creates much less drag. Furthermore, in compliance with the new UCI rules, we developed the Tarmac SL8's narrowest and most aerodynamic seatpost ever. This allows the fast-moving, turbulent air around your legs to flow away more cleanly. A bike with a nose for victory.

MINIMUM WEIGHT, MAXIMUM AERO:

The Tarmac SL8 leverages the insights gained from the development of the Aethos, easily meeting the UCI weight limit with a fully aero setup. Our team developed an incredible 685-gram frame—15% lighter than the Tarmac SL7 and lighter than any other bike on the World Tour. The fact that Kasper Asgreen rode our Aethos, whose frame weighs just 585 grams, on a Tour stage somehow doesn't count. These new technical possibilities enabled us to optimize the weight of the Tarmac's down tube, seat tube, and rear end. The new frame shape distributes the load so efficiently that additional carbon layers for increased stiffness are no longer necessary.

LIGHTNING ACCELERATION WITH MORE COMFORT:

Thanks to a massive improvement in stiffness-to-weight ratio—an astonishing 33% over the SL7—the Tarmac SL8 takes its legendary handling, aggressive throttle response, and World Tour-proven geometry to a new level. Stiffer at the bottom bracket, more precise around the bars, and more compliant in the saddle, the bike sets new standards for competition bike performance and comfort. Our Rider-First Engineering™ concept ensures that every rider, regardless of size, enjoys the same ride quality and handling. The Tarmac SL8 offers 6% more compliance in the saddle, gliding smoothly over rough roads—unique in the high-octane world of road cycling. And when conditions dictate, 32mm of tire clearance allows for the use of higher-volume tires.

GENDER NEUTRAL:

Our product development experience tells us that there can be more differences between two riders of the same gender than between two riders of opposite genders. Gender alone does not create a basis for gender-specific geometries. Frames specifically for men or women are therefore unfounded and outdated. With a Tarmac SL8 for everyone, every rider can gain the decisive advantage. The Tarmac SL8 Expert is a powerful bike with outstanding performance. It comes with a full Ultegra Di2 groupset with power meter, C38 carbon wheelset (tubeless-ready), and an SL7 stem with Specialized Expert Shallow Drop aluminum handlebars.

Great Shirt except for the Cuff Size
Size: 20" Neck 34"-35" Sleeve, Color: White
My only complaint is that when I use the inner cuff buttons to make the cuffs tighter, the cuffs still aren’t small enough (larger than my other shirts of the same size). My wrists are about average, or maybe even a little larger than average. This feature is important for those of us who need a larger neck size but a shorter sleeve. They don’t make a 20 inch collar with a 32/33 sleeve (for some reason)… unless you order a custom shirt for several times as much money… so I have to buy a shirt with sleeves that are too long. That works fine as long as I can use the second cuff button to make the cuffs tighter, so that the sleeves don’t ride down onto my hand when I’m wearing my suit. It’s annoying to have to take a new shirt to a tailor to have the cuff buttons relocated.

Comfortable Dress Shirt with a Professional Look
Size: 22" Neck 34"-35" Sleeve, Color: White
This dress shirt has a clean, polished appearance while still being comfortable enough to wear for long periods. The stretch fabric and flex collar make a noticeable difference in comfort, especially around the neck and shoulders. The fit was true to size, and the material feels lightweight without looking thin. Overall, a solid option for work, formal events, or anyone wanting a classic white dress shirt with a little extra flexibility.

Comfort& Quality
Size: 20" Neck 35"-36" Sleeve, Color: White
Excellent shirt. Ordered for a Risky Business bar crawl and the fabric was so much nicer than the other two options I ordered. It is packaged so nice with pins and feels luxurious (great if you’re giving it as a gift.) It comes wrinkled from being folded in the packaging, but i steamed it and then it did not wrinkle while driving or sitting throughout the night. It’s nice and light. Only downfall is there is no pleat in the back.
